Protocol for intentions

  from the business-meeting of the entrepreneurs of the Municipality of Kresna and the Municipality of Menemeni , Prefecture of Thessaloniki – Greece , implemented on 16 April 2005 in the City of Thessaloniki  

We, the entrepreneurs from the two municipalities – partners, Kresna and Menemeni
•  Lead by the understanding that the commercial and economic collaboration between both municipalities must be built on a stable and long - term basis ;
•  Motivated to develop our business in the interest of the stability and the social - economic progress of the societies from both sides of the border;
•  Encouraged by the financial support of the European Union , PHARE Cross Border Cooperation , as well as the continuity in the policies and actions of the local authorities of Kresna and Menemeni.
implemented partners meeting , today 16 April 2005 and mutually informed ourselves about the condition of the economic environment and the perspectives for development of business relations in our border region . Encouraged by the results of this meeting , we manifest our intentions for the following :
•  Partner conscientiously and usefully for development of the cross border contacts in a mutually beneficial interest and in conformity with our national legislations , aiming to achieve a sustainable social - economic development of the whole border region ;
•  Inform mutually about the changes in our national legislations in the field of tourism , widening of the capacity of the tourist infrastructure , anticipation of the business environment , as well as the strategies and the policies of the local authorities with regard to the development of this branch ;
•  Collaborate in the establishment of contacts with tourist agencies , branch organizations and NGOs , oriented towards tourism and the distribution of information for the possibilities of tourism in the municipality - partner ;
•  Lobby before the tourist companies for the including of the city ( town )- partner in the tourist itineraries and packages , offered to the possible clients by the advertising catalogue of the both municipalities “ A mosaic of nature from Pirin and the Aegean ”
•  Inform and invite mutually to promotions of products and services , trade exhibitions , advertising campaigns , local traditional feasts and any other appropriate activities from regional or international nature , organized by any of the both countries ;
•  Initiate and develop a plan for future joint business activities which correspond to the goals of the projects “ A mosaic of nature from Pirin and the Aegean ”, financed by the European Union ;
•  Exchange information about the condition of the regional labour market and its dynamics - presence of vacant jobs , including season workers , in the regions of the two municipalities ;
•  Partner consecutively and convinced to the local authorities in the implementation of cross border initiatives and projects of the European Union , aiming to the strengthening and development of the cross-border collaboration in the region, in the interest of both peoples.
